City Tour And Burj Khalifa

In the beginning, we were planning to remove city tour from the itinerary. We thought we are already visiting the important places so what is the need to roam around the city. We were totally wrong. Because visiting the top places like Burj Khalifa is not enough. The tour began by visiting the old city while we were guided by the driver about the multiple buildings that came in our way.

After that, we visited gold and spice souk, the most popular market of Dubai. The gold prices do not make much difference if you are planning to buy a small amount. It is quite amazing to see the variety of gold ornaments displayed at the jewellery stores. The designs were unique. Also, the spice souk showcases the variety of spices we don’t even know about. After that, we stopped at a photo point near Burj Al Arab. It is the most iconic and luxurious hotel.

The last stop was the Palm Island. You must visit the Palm Island to see how imagination can be turned into reality. Building an island on the surface of water where people live is something extra ordinary. We saw Atlantis Hotel from the shore of the Palm Island. If you add more spots to the city tour, it will take an entire day to complete it.

Dubai Mall And Burj Khalifa

Next, we visited Dubai Mall from where we entered Burj Khalifa. Grab your snacks or eat something before you enter a long queue to reach the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa. We ate at Bikanerwala in Dubai Mall. After that, it took us 1.5 to 2 hours to enter the lift and just one minute to reach the top. The view at the 124th floor makes you think we are amongst the tiniest creatures living on Earth. You feel like you are watching miniatures of the buildings. We clicked a few pictures and joined another queue to move down. This time it took us just about half an hour to reach the lift. NOTE: Once you reach the check point for entry in Burj Khalifa, you can cannot carry eatables in your bags.

We explored a few shops in Dubai Mall. If people say, we shop from Dubai because it is a cheaper place then let me tell you it is not. The only thing that you get at lower price is electronics. You may get a few clothing brands that are relatively cheaper. If you haven’t been to a maze then finding a single shop in Dubai mall will give you that adventurous experience too. Yes, the mall has multiple turns and floors and sections so make sure you download Dubai mall app or take help of maps in the mall. If you are vegetarian then you can visit Bikanerwala to try Indian vegetarian cuisine. For vegetarians, the options are limited as they use egg even in the preparation of the buns.

In between we visited the Dubai Aquarium. The half of the aquarium is visible from outside with paying any fee and the other half is in the tunnel form that was not worth it. Yes, if you are fond of clicking pictures then you can buy tickets for it otherwise not. After that, we went out to watch the fountain show. You can watch it any day. It keeps playing every half an hour. With Burj Khalifa in front of us, the fountain show in the evening made our day. A lot of people gather around it to click photos and record videos. You must watch it.
