The Bombay High Court took the decision of dismissing Kangana Ranaut’s plea against Javed Akhtar. Earlier, the decision was pending. The justice Revati Mohite Dere reserved the order on 1st September. Now, on Thursday Kangana got a major setback as her petition stands dismissed. Yes, high court dismissed Kangana Ranaut’s plea.
The Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate’s court has initiated the proceedings at the start of this year. According to Kangana’s counsel, the court didn’t apply its mind to the case. It is mainly a defamation case.
Kangana Ranaut’s Plea In Defamation Case
Kangana as we all know is an active face when it comes to controversies. After Sushant’s case, the actress has been quite active on social media. Every other day we get to read Kangana’s statement on multiple topics. According to Javed Akhtar’s counsel, the case is quite legit. After the police inquiry on the actor’s interview, the court took this decision.
The defamation case against Kangana Ranaut is almost a year old. In November, last year Javed Akhtar moved to court to file a criminal complaint. Kangana gave an interview on television to journalist Arnab Goswami. It was in this interview that Kangana commented on Javed Akhtar. It didn’t go well with Akhtar and hence the case.
In the year 2020, the court asked the Juhu police to proceed with the inquiry into Akhtar’s complaint. In February, Kangana Ranaut was sent a summons and the case is still going through proceedings.
